It’s no secret that November is going to be an extraordinarily important month both online and offline. It promises to be a divisive time on social media and that will only escalate if the rumors prove to be founded in truth. That’s right, if Taylor Swift announces Reputation (Taylor’s Version) then social media managers across the globe will have to entirely reevaluate their approach to content in November. Luckily, you have your old pals at Nuera Marketing to provide a comprehensive calendar of November social media holidays and observances for businesses to utilize so that they can break through all the white noise of a re-recorded “Look What You Made Me Do.”
In all seriousness, the country will make a major decision in November that can and should affect the way businesses approach the month of November. We’ll go into more detail later and until then, please enjoy the November 2024 social media calendar for brands and businesses!
Monthly Social Media Observances in November
National Gratitude Month
Thanksgiving is obviously later this month but National Gratitude Month encompasses all of November. At a time when your audience’s social media feeds will be clogged with division and vitriol, it’s not a bad idea to talk about the things that you and your team are grateful for this year. It not only provides a great juxtaposition against the dross of derision, it also humanizes your team which should always be a goal. #NationalGratitudeMonth
Military Family Month
Military families are forced to sacrifice a great deal for our country and this month provides a great opportunity for businesses to show their appreciation by offering discounts throughout the month. Black Friday and Cyber Monday will be celebrated by every business but Military Family Month takes place the entire month and allows you to help a worthy group of people while getting the jump on competitors. #MilitaryFamilyMonth
Lung Cancer Awareness Month
Lung Cancer is a truly terrible disease and this month was created to raise awareness for the 230,000+ that will battle it this year. Businesses can show their support by either featuring their team wearing a white, pearl or clear ribbon, sharing their story here, or sharing lung cancer prevention tips. #LungCancerAwarenessMonth
National Entrepreneurship Month
This month should be considered a blank canvas for businesses as it encompasses everything involving entrepreneurship. Businesses can share their origin story this month to show solidarity with their fellow business owners who are just getting their ideas off the ground. Bennett College has a great list of five ways you can commemorate National Entrepreneurship Month here. #NationalEntrepreneurshipMonth
National Inspirational Role Models Month
Behind every great business owner is often someone who provided invaluable wisdom and advice. In a month where division will be prevalent, you can use this month to post something positive by focusing on your team’s philanthropic work, championing the people who have helped you succeed along the way, and even asking your audience to nominate their own inspirational role model! #InspirationalRoleModelsMonth
Gluten-Free Diet Awareness Month
Darn tootin’, there’s no gluten this month (I have waited to use that for YEARS)! Health food stores and restaurants that offer gluten-free options should not only offer discounts this month, but also use it as an opportunity to share valuable insights like this about the benefits of a gluten-free diet! #glutenfreediet
No-Shave November
As someone who has attempted to grow a beard on numerous occasions only to find his face looking like the turf of a football field after a Grateful Dead concert, I’ve never found success celebrating No-Shave November. However, this observance provides a great opportunity for brands to highlight team members by posting photos of them clean-shaven at the start of the month and then fully lumberjacked up with a beard at the end of the month. What’s more, No-Shave November was originally started to show solidarity with cancer patients who are losing their hair so brands can run internal contests to see who can last the longest and then make a donation to No-Shave. #NoShaveNovember
November 2024 Social Media Holidays

NOV 02
Day of the Dead
Day of the Dead is an important Mexican holiday that honors those no longer with us. There’s a celebratory tone to this day (also called Dia de los Muertos) and offers an opportunity for Mexican restaurants especially to discount tequila and other drinks that would be used to toast the deceased. Here’s a history of the day you can reference as well! #DayofTheDead
NOV 03

Sometimes a sandwich really hits the spot and this is the day that spot should be bombarded on social media with restaurants highlighting their best sandwiches! #NationalSandwichDay
NOV 04
National Candy Day
This is a time to tug on the sweet tooth of your audience by offering free samples and discounts on all of your best candy! #NationalCandyDay
National Day of Community Service
Social media is a great way to engender your business to the community and this day offers an opportunity to give back in a more visible way. Consider highlighting your team members who give back to the community and be sure to tag the organizations they work with to maximize the reach of your posts! You could even take this a step further and have your entire team participate by helping a cause that’s near and dear to you. It would do a lot to generate goodwill for your business and besides, it’s just a great thing to do! #NationalDayofCommunityService
NOV 05
Decision Day
Please note that I did not use the “e word” to describe this day. That was intentional because the social media platforms (specifically Facebook) are being extraordinarily heavy-handed when it comes to erm, Decision Day content. If you do have to post today, DO NOT MAKE IT about the “decision” and avoid any word that could conceivably be perceived as being even in the vicinity of similar words used to describe what’s happening in the country because your post boost will get rejected. Most importantly though, don’t jump into this discussion because it has no benefit for your brand. Don’t post at all because your content will be immediately washed away by other topics. #DecisionDay
NOV 06
National Stress Awareness Day
Something tells us that people are definitely going to be feeling a little stressed today so it would be a great opportunity for wellness brands to offer stress reduction tips like this one from Very Well Mind. Just remember to keep it mindful and demure. #NationalStressAwarenessDay
NOV 07
International Stout Day
We can’t think of a better time to raise a glass than a few days after people will inevitably be recovering from a crippling hangover. Restaurants and bars can give their audience the hair of the dog by celebrating International Stout Day with discounts on your best frothy stout! #InternationalStoutDay
NOV 08
National Cappuccino Day
Amazing how all of these days seem to complement one another right in a row, huh? People will need an extra pick-me-up after they spent all night celebrating International Stout Day so coffee shops can offer discounts all day on cappuccino to give their customers an extra boost! As always, we would be remiss if we didn’t mention that The Prime Minister of Emojistan himself, our founder and President Joe Sampson, would request that you use this emoji: ☕. #NationalCappuccinoDay
NOV 09
Go To An Art Museum Day
This is a bit of a slow day (a much-needed respite) but it’s the Super Bowl for all the art museum social media managers out there. As with all destinations on social media, try to encourage your audience to post their own content that you can share. Also, consider offering either one day of free admission or some massively discounted tickets today. #GoToAnArtMuseumDay
NOV 10
Marine Corps Day
Today marks the anniversary of the founding of the United States Marine Corps and you can commemorate the occasion by expressing appreciation for both the members of your team and anyone else who served. #MarineCorpsDay

Frequently known as the bad boys of the office, the office accountant isn’t often elevated to superstar status on social media. THAT. CHANGES. TODAY. Accounting is the backbone of any operation so be sure to champion the members of your team that crunch the numbers and keep things running smoothly! #InternationalAccountingDay
NOV 11
Veterans Day
Today is a day to use a reverent tone to express just how appreciative you and your team are for the service of those who served in the military. Be sure to mention your military discount and if you have any trouble coming up with a caption, be sure to consult this blog we wrote about how to post on social media holidays! #VeteransDay
NOV 12
National Happy Hour Day
Turn a mundane Tuesday into a celebration of early-evening drinking by commemorating National Happy Hour Day with special discounts on alcohol from 4-7 pm! Be sure to encourage your audience to tag your bar/restaurant in photos as well so that they can spread the message on your behalf. #NationalHappyHourDay

You can also share a history of the day like this one from Kappa Delta (the original founders of the day). #InternationalGirlsDay
National Seat Belt Day

National Fast Food Day
You know that somewhere in the world Ronald McDonald and Grimace are holed up in a burger dungeon (I’m envisioning Saw but with fries) scheming up ways to celebrate this day on social media. Don’t let those clowns have all the fun–even if you’re not a fast food restaurant, you can use this day to really drive that point home on social media but also by playing up how fast your service can be. #NationalFastFoodDay

Keep your tone light and breezy like the grapes that make this wine beloved by mothers-in-law all over the world by offering discounts and tastings all day! #ZinfandelDay
NOV 18
National Princess Day
You can paint with a wide brush on this day because princesses don’t necessarily have to be little girls. You can offer discounts for daughters but you can also make it a point to say that every woman is a princess by offering specials for them to be treated like royalty for a day. This can apply to restaurants, spas, boutiques–there really are no limits! #NationalPrincessDay
NOV 19
National Entrepreneurs Day
This is a day for all the dreamers out there making their businesses happen. Celebrate the leap of faith required to start your own business by championing those who came before you, sharing your own business’ origin story, and encouraging others to start their own company. You can learn more about the history of this day here. #NationalEntrepreneursDay
World Toilet Day
While some could argue that all of social media is a toilet, this is actually a day perfect for plumbers. Have some fun with this one if you own your own plumbing business because it’s such a seemingly random holiday that you’re afforded a lot of opportunities to use humor here. #WorldToiletDay
NOV 20
Education Support Professionals Day
If you work in education or even a company that is education-adjacent, then this is the day to express appreciation for all of those behind-the-scenes people who help make schools run smoothly! #EducationSupportProfessionalsDay
NOV 21
World Hello Day
While this may seem like one of those days that someone made up just for the sake of doing it, this is a day that is actually lauded by Nobel Prize winners as a great way to promote harmonious interaction. For social media managers, it represents a great opportunity to get to know your audience by asking them an open-ended question that they can answer in the comments. #WorldHelloDay
NOV 22
Flossing Day
While I’d love to evoke the late 2000s colloquialism of flossing as slang for bragging, this is actually a perfect opportunity for those social media savants in the dentistry profession to extol the benefits of flossing. #FlossingDay
NOV 23
National Espresso Day
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and your audience is going to need a boost before, during, and after all of that family and tryptophan. NOV 24
Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day

Shopping Reminder Day
This day was created to remind people to shop for the holidays AFTER Thanksgiving but you can use it as an opportunity to really drive home your #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday deals in advance of the competition! #ShoppingReminderDay
