One of the secrets to superior social media marketing for brands of all shapes and sizes is finding the right context for your content. Social media “holidays” are a really fun way to join existing conversations about your audience or industry but it can be difficult to find a complete social media calendar that lists every single social media holiday that could be germane to your business. We’ve solved that problem for you with the single most complete calendar of 2025 social media holidays for brands to utilize throughout the year!
At Nuera, we’ve utilized a number of these holidays to provide a compelling context for the social media content we produce for our clients. Unlike other 2025 social media holiday calendars, we’ve included our own context, resources to utilize, and the hashtags for each social media holiday. Let’s dive in!

July 2025
Social Media Monthly Holidays & Observations
Monthly Social Media Observances in July
Independent Retailer Month
Customers love supporting mom-and-pop stores and independently owned businesses (we even do a monthly #SupportLocal post on our own channels) can make a whole month of it on social media in July. Encourage your audience to support not just your business but your fellow independent retailers and offer discounts throughout the course of the month. One thing we’ve done for clients that worked especially well was to post discounts throughout the month for people whose names began with a certain letter. That encourages people to share with their friends and ideally gets some business in the door! #IndependentRetailerMonth
National Culinary Arts Month
An entire month to celebrate the Caravagios of the kitchen! Restaurants can utilize this month to shine a spotlight on both their kitchen staff and the incredibly delicious meals they make. It’s a wonderful opportunity to talk about the care that goes into each meal and the caliber of employees you have working behind the scenes to make the dining experience perfect! #CulinaryArt
National Make a Difference to Children Month
This month is all about celebrating the people and causes that make a difference in the lives of children. If you have employees that give their valuable time to helping kids or your business/organization supports children-focused initiatives then this is the month to talk about it. Be careful on the latter though and include resources for people to join you in their support so that you’re putting the cause first and your involvement second. Here’s a history of the holiday for you to learn more! #MakeADifferenceToChildren
National Grilling Month
This is the month to crown the true grillmasters on social media! It should be obvious by this point that if you sell grills, you should feature them this month but you can also include special discounts and giveaways to coincide with this month. We’ve done similar promotions in the past and it not only allows you to create promotional content featuring the grills but also photos and videos of customers using the grills you sell! #Grilling
National Fireworks Safety Month
Fireworks are all fun and games until Dad loses a finger trying to commemorate our nation’s independence with a poorly lit Roman candle, right? People will be lighting a lot of fireworks before the 4th of July and this is a particularly good opportunity for law firms to offer fireworks safety tips before the holiday. Here’s a good example of this type of post we made for our client Harris Guidi Rosner.
UV Safety Month
People will be spending a lot of time at the beach this month and who can blame them when it’s so nice and toasty outside? However, it’s important to take precautions when in prolonged sunlight and this is a month where brands can extol the virtues of sunscreen and skin cancer prevention like the American Academy of Dermatologists does here. #UVSafetyMonthAir Conditioning Appreciation Day

JUL 04
Independence Day / 4th of July
Kind of a big one, here! There are so many options for brands and businesses to take advantage of this day on social media but our first recommendation is to make sure your hours of operation are correct across every social media channel. As far as content is concerned, you can feature your team members at a 4th of July celebration, design something involving fireworks, apple pie, or any slice of Americana, or share a history of the day but be sure to wish your audience a happy #4thofJuly!
JUL 05

Maybe offer free tetanus shots? #NationalDiveBarDay

THEY’RE LISTENING RIGHT NOW. #AIAppreciation

Social Media Monthly Holidays & Observations
Monthly Social Media Observances in August
National Traffic Safety Month
Summer is the most dangerous time of year for traffic accidents so use this month as an opportunity to drive awareness of some of the statistics and to promote safety tips like this list from the NHTSA. #TrafficSafetyMonth
Back to School Month
There’s no such thing as an endless summer (although writing these calendars sure makes it feel that way for your intrepid author) and now it’s time for the kids to go back to school. Brands should promote any back-to-school savings and also use this opportunity to express appreciation for teachers! #BackToSchool
National Wellness Month
Do you provide products or services that promote self-care? Well by golly, you’ve got a whole month of context to talk about what you do while operating under the umbrella of National Wellness Month. Given that wellness is practically a movement at this point, it makes sense to offer tips, discounts, and advice while also making it a point to spotlight some of your customers and vendors who subscribe to the same (tranquil!) mindset you do! #NationalWellnessMonth
Black Business Month
Did you know that 10% of all American businesses are black-owned? This is the month to celebrate your black business and all that it does to make your community thrive. Celebrate those who came before and take this month to deservedly champion your fellow black business owners! Here’s a great list of ways to celebrate an important month! #BlackBusinessMonth

We swore we wouldn’t do this but if your business is even tangentially involved with golf then this month should be a…wait for it…hole in one for posting on social media! If you offer golf gear then this is a great month to offer special discounts. If your business has nothing to do with golf but you have employees that enjoy the game then you can have a little fun with this month and post photos of those employees on the links in their goofiest golf outfits. Your sandwich artists don’t need to cut off an ear to make this a great month but make sure your food photography is especially on point this month! #NationalSandwichMonth
August 2025 Social Media Holidays
AUG 01
Startup Day Across America
It takes a tremendous leap of faith to start a business and build it from the ground floor. Startup culture (for better or worse) has become synonymous with entrepreneurship so today is a great day for startup founders to both discuss their origin story and highlight the employees helping build their business on social media! #StartupDay
National Girlfriend Day
While this day was ostensibly started to appreciate the girlfriends of the world in a romantic way, businesses can also flip the holiday on its head and use it to celebrate female friendships. Either way, offering a discount on gifts for the special women in your customers’ lives is always a good idea today! You can also go the guilt route with this day and imply that the girlfriends of your audience members are unappreciated and therefore deserve a gift you happen to sell. While we don’t necessarily condone this practice, it seems to work for other businesses and hey, it’s never a bad idea to buy your girlfriend a gift just because! #NationalGirlfriendDay
AUG 02
National Mustard Day
Use today to compliment one of the finest condiments by offering discounts on burgers, hot dogs, and everything that mustard adds a little something extra to the flavor! #NationalMustardDay
AUG 03
Clean Your Floors Day
If my wife is to be believed then I have not ever celebrated this day in ten years of marriage. Here’s a great list from Molly Maid that I will definitely reference the next time I clean my floors. #CleanYourFloorsDay
AUG 04
National Sisters Day
The relationship between sisters is truly special so if you have sisters working on your team then you should highlight their bond on social media today! #NationalSistersDay

National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day
Fish meet barrel for social media posts. With the exception of dogs and those with allergies, pretty much everyone loves chocolate chip cookies so consider offering discounts, free cookies, or even the best chocolate chip recipes from your team! This recipe from Joy Food Sunshine (they’re not a cult despite the name, we checked) promises “the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever” (the hubris!) and serves as a great example of a way to position any recipe you share. #NationalChocolateChipCookieDay
AUG 05
National Oyster Day
Oysters are in season and often serve as an indicator that a dining experience is a special occasion. Restaurants can use this day to talk about their freshest oysters while also making subtle inferences that a generous allotment of oysters will make for a great, amorous date night. Keep it tongue in cheek but you can probably have a lot of fun with the mistaken assumption that oysters are a natural aphrodisiac. #NationalOysterDay
AUG 06
National Farmworker Appreciation Day
While this is an obvious day to celebrate if you work on a farm, it’s also a day that restaurants can utilize to show appreciation for the fresh food farmers bring to their tables every day. AUG 10
National Lazy Day
While laziness might evoke a bit of a negative connotation, we still live in a society where people are overworked and exhausted. Businesses can use today to promote services or products that help people relax and take a break because hey, they’ve earned it! If your business offers a fun experience, then encourage people to blow off work and drop by. #NationalLazyDay
AUG 11
National Son & Daughter Day
Today is a day for people to spoil their sons and daughters and as someone with twins (boy and girl) at home, you better believe I’m going to do something even if they won’t remember it given their age. There are a lot of options for businesses to seize this day whether it’s offering family discounts, posting photos of your team with their sons and daughters, or offering suggestions like this list from CBS News (Edward R. Murrow probably didn’t celebrate this day) on how parents can spend the day! #SonandDaughterDay
AUG 12
Milkman Day
We’re going to level with you, the twelfth of August is kind of slow and we thought it was hilarious that Milkman Day falls the day after National Son and Daughter Day. It would be objectively hysterical if private investigators offered a discount on this day so you’re welcome, Dick Tracy. #MilkmanDay
AUG 13
National Filet Mignon Day
There are few things tastier than a perfectly prepared cut of filet mignon. Restaurants should offer discounts today and share content that shows their best filet mignons being prepared! Self-appointed King of The Emoji and Nuera president, Joe Sampson would insist we use this emoji for any restaurant client: 🥩 #NationalFiletMignonDay
AUG 14
National Financial Awareness Day

This is a day where any business that deals in finance should offer tips on how people can become more financially aware and independent. We particularly liked this list from MSCD. #NationalFinancialAwarenessDay
Love Your Bookshop Day
August is a big month for booksellers, huh? This is definitely a day for independent bookstores to promote their shop with an emphasis on supporting locally owned businesses rather than Amazon. You can promote this day with discounts, recommendations, author appearances and so much more! #LoveYourBookshopDay
AUG 15
National Relaxation Day
National Relaxation Day dovetails nicely with National Wellness Month and brands should use this day to encourage people to take a break and smell the roses. Businesses can promote relaxing products and experiences with discounts and an empathetic tone to those who truly deserve a day to unwind. #NationalRelaxationDay
National Men's Grooming Day
Dudes gotta look sharp and today is a day for barbershops and companies offering grooming products to offer discounts and specials! #MensGroomingDay

Businesses in the medical or legal fields can use this day to promote patient advocacy and provide resources like this one to make sure patients know they still have a voice. #NationalPatientAdvocacyDay
AUG 20

People seem to love bacon the same way sports fans love their favorite teams. Restaurants should take advantage of this fervor by offering special bacon-related meals and offer discounts! #NationalBaconLoversDay
AUG 21
National Senior Citizens Day
This day was started by Ronald Reagan to raise awareness of issues that affect senior citizens and to promote things that improve their quality of life. It’s that latter part that businesses should focus on by promoting any senior discounts they may have. #NationalSeniorCitizensDay

September 2025
Social Media Monthly Holidays & Observations
Monthly Social Media Observances in September
National Chicken Month
Everyone knows the social media manager crossed the road to post about the majesty of the chicken during the month of September. If you have a restaurant that prominently features chicken then this is the month to offer discounts and to introduce new chicken-centric menu items. To not do so would be a misstep most…fowl? We’ll see ourselves out. #NationalChickenMonth
Disaster Preparedness Month
Here in the South, hurricanes are a pretty big deal in the month of September. This month is perfect for law firms, insurance companies, or anyone who provides household services like roofing, fencing, etc to post lists of how to best be prepared during a disaster. Here’s a great resource you can use from Ready.gov! #DisasterPreparednessMonth
Self Improvement Month
Nobody’s perfect and we can all do everything we can to try to get a little bit better each day. If your business is involved with physical or mental fitness then this is the month for you to share self-improvement tips like this one from National American University. #SelfImprovementMonth
National Organic Month
This month celebrates healthy, organic food which means anyone who owns a restaurant, farm, or works in the food service industry has ample opportunity to talk about the origins of their food and their commitment to maintaining a healthy menu! #NationalOrganicMonth
Suicide Prevention Month
This one also applies to the mental health field but can also apply to any business within the medical space. It’s important not to cast judgment or editorialize in a post about this month and instead should be used as an opportunity to provide resources for people considering ending their own life. Here’s an example of a list of hotlines people can call that you could share. #SuicidePreventionMonth
Pain Awareness Month
This month was started to raise awareness of generalized pain that so many people experience within a given day. While an obvious example would be for a medical professional to offer general pain mitigation tips, this can also be an opportunity for medical supply companies to extol the virtues of some of their products. It is important that posts on the subject be couched in sympathy rather than sales-oriented because there’s a fine line between helpful and opportunistic. #PainAwarenessMonth
September 2025 Social Media Holidays
SEP 01
American Chess Day
Time to indulge your inner Magnus Carlsen (even though he’s Norwegian) and celebrate the game of chess! If you have a chess board in your office then consider posting a reel or photo of a particularly heated game between employees to celebrate your office culture! #AmericanChessDay
Labor Day
If your business is closed on Labor Day then be sure to alert people to that fact beforehand. Either way, this day gives you an opportunity to celebrate the members of your team who help your business find success! #LaborDay
SEP 02
Telephone Tuesday
The day after Labor Day usually finds businesses’ phones tied up with callers who couldn’t get through over the long weekend. Today would be a great day to take a photo of whoever works your phones to let people know you’re back open with service as usual while also celebrating the hard work of a team member who probably has a long day ahead of them! It was this or celebrating US Bowling League Day and while we hesitated to strike (zing!) down such an esteemed sport, we thought #TelephoneTuesday was the way to go.
SEP 03
Global Talent Acquisition Day
HR employees are some of the most unheralded in the workforce but they get their own day today! You can use this day to not only celebrate the contributions of your HR department but also to remind people of any job openings you might have on your team! #GlobalTalentAcquisitionDay
SEP 04
Eat an Extra Dessert Day
Sometimes people just need to treat themselves to a little something extra so give them something to look forward to by offering 2 for 1 dessert items today! #EatAnExtraDessertDay
SEP 05
International Day of Charity
Does your business support charities? Today is not the day to pat yourself on the back for your contributions but to raise awareness of what those charities do to help the world. #InternationalDayofCharity
National Cheese Pizza Day
I was admittedly a little surprised there was only one day dedicated to the cheese pizza because I celebrate it 365 days a year. My body is like 80% cheese pizza which in hindsight is a pretty disgusting visual but it’s too late to turn back now. In all seriousness, pizza parlors and restaurants need to make this a big day and offer huge discounts on the indescribably delicious cheese pizza! As an aside, who is the impish prankster who decided to make it on August 5th National Cellulite Day? I kid you not. #NationalCheesePizzaDay

National Read a Book Day

National Beer Lovers Day
Far be it from us to suggest that the wafting smell of an IPA dilutes the pristine air of the International Day of Clean Air but today is also a day for the beer lovers of the world. This day is also on a Saturday this year so bars and restaurants can have a guilt-free celebration from open to close with specials and promotions! We’d be remiss if we didn’t evoke the inevitable advice of the world’s foremost practitioner of the emoji, Nuera president Joe Sampson, and say that you should use this emoji:🍺. #NationalBeerLoversDay

International Box Wine Day
Finally, we’re classing up this calendar with International Box Wine Day. Who needs bottles and their impossible to finagle corks when all you need to do is grab a box, punch some cardboard, and pour away? In all seriousness, box wine is particularly popular as a more mobile-friendly wine and it could provide wine stores a good opportunity to poke fun at the reputation of wine drinkers as snobs that was cultivated in the movie Sideways. #InternationalBoxWineDay
SEP 10

SEP 19
Talk Like a Pirate Day
I always thought this day was a myth designed to illustrate the ridiculousness of some of these social media holidays. As with so very many things, I was wrong. As far as brands and businesses are concerned, our best advice on this day can be summarized in one word: don’t. Also, this day somehow has a spinoff holiday called Meow Like a Pirate Day? I think we can all agree that this is the Joey (starring TV’s Matt Leblanc!) of social media holidays. Look ok, if you insist on posting about this day then make sure it’s germane to your business and at least half-heartedly clever. Toss in the obligatory “argh” once in a while and maybe include an eye patch but let’s not go full Jack Sparrow here. #TalkLikeAPirateDay
SEP 20
National Concussion Awareness Day
I got a concussion when I was 10 after a particularly heated game of soccer and I forgot my name for three days. Wife Appreciation Day
Pro tip to all the spouses out there: buy your wife something special today not because it’s Wife Appreciation Day but “because every day should be Wife Appreciation Day.” It’s a winning line and will go over like gangbusters especially after you got a sweet deal you saw on social media from a business offering discounts on things your wife would like! #WifeAppreciationDay
World Alzheimer's Day
Alzheimer’s is a devastating diagnosis for families and this day was created to spread awareness. If you work in neurology then consider sharing helpful information like this resource from World Alzheimer’s Day. If you don’t work in a field relevant to Alzheimer’s then consider posting a photo of your team in purple to show your support. #WorldAlzheimersDay

Social Media Monthly Holidays & Observations
Monthly Social Media Observances in October
Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Did you know that 360,000 people will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024? To show your support for those battling this horrible disease, consider sharing a photo of your team wearing pink to the office. As with any observance like this, it always helps to share a link with your audience to let them know how they can get involved and you can find that link here. #BreastCancerAwareness
Financial Planning Month
This is a month tailor-made for financial planners and institutions to share tips with their audience on how to best plan their financial future. We’ll be taking advantage of this day for our clients at Riverplace Capital by sharing tips and strategies to help folks manage their finances during a period when the markets are especially tumultuous. #FinancialPlanningMonth
National Dessert Month
Helping your audience indulge in their sweet tooth is a great way to generate engagement for your restaurant. Use this month to introduce new desserts and to share the best photos of the desserts on your menu so that your audience is salivating for something sweet after their meal! #NationalDessertMonth
National Pizza Month
In a world where people disagree about just about everything, pizza serves as the great unifier because we can all agree that people who dislike pizza (with the exception of the lactose intolerant) are a fairly disreputable group. This month serves as a great opportunity to offer discounts on the pizza you have on your menu and when done right, your posts will really…deliver? Our president, Joe Sampson, doesn’t edit these before they go out but if he did you can rest assured that the self-proclaimed “Emojist with the Mostest” (he doesn't call himself that) would say that the perfect topping for your pizza post would be this emoji: 🍕. #NationalPizzaMonth
Vegetarian Month
This entire month can be used to celebrate not only the health benefits of going vegetarian but also by offering promotions and discounts on vegetarian meals. Even if you serve meat on your menu, be sure to make your post as appealing as possible to vegetarians because they can be an evangelical audience when a business shows how much they appreciate them. Here’s a great list of the benefits of going vegetarian from Harvard Health. #VegetarianMonth
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
No person should have to experience the trauma of domestic violence and yet it is sadly a common occurrence. Victims of domestic violence often feel like they have nowhere to turn so it’s important for your business to show your support and to provide resources like this to let them know that they have options. #DVAM2025
"Spooky Season"
True story: my wife will not watch horror films any other month of the year unless it’s during what she calls “spooky season.” It makes little sense to me but there seems to be a general consensus that the latter part of October is the best time to truly embrace Halloween so consider updating your profile imagery to have a vaguely “spooky” feeling and maybe even go so far as to add design flourishes to appropriate images so that they’re more applicable to the season. #SpookySeason
October 2025 Social Media Holidays

Social Media Monthly Holidays & Observations
Monthly Social Media Observances in November
National Gratitude Month
Thanksgiving is obviously later this month but National Gratitude Month encompasses all of November. At a time when your audience’s social media feeds will be clogged with division and vitriol, it’s not a bad idea to talk about the things that you and your team are grateful for this year. It not only provides a great juxtaposition against the dross of derision, it also humanizes your team which should always be a goal. #NationalGratitudeMonth

Military families are forced to sacrifice a great deal for our country and this month provides a great opportunity for businesses to show their appreciation by offering discounts throughout the month. No-Shave November
As someone who has attempted to grow a beard on numerous occasions only to find his face looking like the turf of a football field after a Grateful Dead concert, I’ve never found success celebrating No-Shave November. However, this observance provides a great opportunity for brands to highlight team members by posting photos of them clean-shaven at the start of the month and then fully lumberjacked up with a beard at the end of the month. What’s more, No-Shave November was originally started to show solidarity with cancer patients who are losing their hair so brands can run internal contests to see who can last the longest and then make a donation to No-Shave. #NoShaveNovember

Did you know that 46,000 Americans are killed each year in accidents where someone wasn’t wearing a seat belt? Law firms and other companies involved in safety can use this day to encourage people to buckle up and to share facts about seat belt safety. #SeatBeltDay
NOV 16
National Fast Food Day
You know that somewhere in the world Ronald McDonald and Grimace are holed up in a burger dungeon (I’m envisioning Saw but with fries) scheming up ways to celebrate this day on social media. Don’t let those clowns have all the fun--even if you’re not a fast food restaurant, you can use this day to really drive that point home on social media but also by playing up how fast your service can be. #NationalFastFoodDay
NOV 17
National Hiking Day
Lace-up those hiking boots and get ready to post on social media if you run a sporting goods store because you should be promoting all of your hiking gear today. Also, consider encouraging your audience to upload photos from their favorite hikes! #NationalHikingDay
NOV 18
National Princess Day
You can paint with a wide brush on this day because princesses don’t necessarily have to be little girls. You can offer discounts for daughters but you can also make it a point to say that every woman is a princess by offering specials for them to be treated like royalty for a day. This can apply to restaurants, spas, and boutiques--there really are no limits! #NationalPrincessDay
National Entrepreneur Day
This is a day for all the dreamers out there making their businesses happen. Celebrate the leap of faith required to start your own business by championing those who came before you, sharing your own business’ origin story, and encouraging others to start their own company. You can learn more about the history of this day here. #NationalEntrepreneurDay

Zinfandel Day
Keep your tone light and breezy like the grapes that make this wine beloved by mothers-in-law all over the world by offering discounts and tastings all day! #ZinfandelDay
World Toilet Day
While some could argue that all of social media is a toilet, this is actually a day perfect for plumbers. Have some fun with this one if you own your own plumbing business because it’s such a seemingly random holiday that you’re afforded a lot of opportunities to use humor here. #WorldToiletDay
NOV 20
Education Support Professionals Day
If you work in education or even a company that is education-adjacent, then this is the day to express appreciation for all of those behind-the-scenes people who help make schools run smoothly! #EducationSupportProfessionalsDay
NOV 21
World Hello Day
While this may seem like one of those days that someone made up just for the sake of doing it, this is a day that is actually lauded by Nobel Prize winners as a great way to promote harmonious interaction. For social media managers, it represents a great opportunity to get to know your audience by asking them an open-ended question that they can answer in the comments. #WorldHelloDay
NOV 22
Go for a Ride Day
This day was started to encourage people to get out of the house and cruise around in their cars so dealerships should use it as an opportunity to get people to come by and test-drive their flyest rides (or whips as the kids called them in 1999). #GoForARideDay
NOV 23
National Espresso Day
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and your audience is going to need a boost before, during, and after all of that family and tryptophan. Start pumping up the espresso deals now but let people know that they’ll continue into the next week because you have their backs after what can be a stressful holiday. #NationalEspressoDay
NOV 24
Celebrate Your Unique Talent Day
This day represents a great opportunity to let your audience get to know the members of your team. Consider posting a video of an employee doing something unique that only they can do and also ask the audience to let you know their unique talent in the comments! #UniqueTalent
NOV 25
Shopping Reminder Day
This day was created to remind people to shop for the holidays AFTER Thanksgiving but you can use it as an opportunity to really drive home your #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday deals in advance of the competition! #ShoppingReminderDay
NOV 26
International Cake Day
If ever there was a holiday worth celebrating with vigor then it’s International Cake Day. Bakeries and restaurants should have the floor on social media today by showing off their tastiest and most aesthetically appealing cakes! #InternationalCakeDay
Shopping Reminder Day
This day was created to remind people to shop for the holidays AFTER Thanksgiving but you can use it as an opportunity to really drive home your #BlackFriday and #CyberMonday deals in advance of the competition! #ShoppingReminderDay
Drinksgiving
We totally understand wanting to have a few drinks when you go home for Thanksgiving because that can be mighty stressful. If you have a bar that’s open on the day before Thanksgiving then you have an opportunity to have a big night by celebrating Drinksgiving by letting people know your hours and offering specials all night. #Drinksgiving
NOV 27
Thanksgiving
This is absolutely a day to show gratitude to your team and your customers on social media. You can design your own image or feature client testimonials but make it a point to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and to tell people what you’re thankful for this year. #HappyThanksgiving
NOV 28
Black Friday
This is a HUGE day for retail so be sure to start hyping your sales EARLY to generate some excitement. Consider doing a countdown to this day and make sure you let your audience know what your hours will be! Here’s a great list of Black Friday social media tips for your business. #BlackFriday
Flossing Day
While I’d love to evoke the late 2000s colloquialism of flossing as slang for bragging, this is actually a perfect opportunity for those social media savants in the dentistry profession to extol the benefits of flossing. #FlossingDay
NOV 29
Small Business Saturday
You may need to wear padding when you go to Wal-Mart for Black Friday but that’s not the case for small businesses. People want to support small businesses on the day after Black Friday so today is a day to own your business’s independent identity, offer sales, and celebrate your place within your local community! Here’s a list of 40 ways to promote your business on Small Business Saturday. #SmallBusinessSaturday
NOV 30
National Computer Safety Day
If you spent time with your parents or in-laws at Thanksgiving then you definitely heard something about how their computer was unsafe and constantly being hacked by nefarious cabals of septuagenarian-hating criminals. This is rarely the case but brands can seize the day here to offer some of their best tips on how to keep your computer safe like this one from those hippies at UC Berkeley. #NationalComputerSafetyDay
December 2025
Social Media Monthly Holidays & Observations
Monthly Social Media Observances in December
Holiday Season
The holiday season fundamentally begins right after Thanksgiving so you should have your holiday-themed promotions ready to go in early December. Start sharing discounts, promote some of your most popular items that would work well as gifts, and consider changing the design of your creative to reflect something a bit more festive. At Nuera Marketing, we always make it a point to change the profile and cover photos for our clients so that they’re holiday-themed. These little touches go a long way to generating the kind of brand affinity that businesses are after during the holiday season. #HappyHolidays
Month of Giving
This month was created to encourage people to give back to people who are less fortunate or causes that help those in need. As a brand, you’ll want to share photos/videos of your team giving back to engender community goodwill but be sure that the focal point of your post is encouraging others to contribute as well. It’s great that you’re giving back but your social post should not be a pat on the back, it should be a call to action to others. #MonthOfGiving
National Write a Business Plan Month
As the last month of the year, December represents the last opportunity to truly get a head start on the new year. Writing a business plan is an accomplishment in and of itself so if you provide financial, legal, or B2B services then this month is for you. Use the context this month provides to explain the benefits of your services while also encouraging entrepreneurs to take the leap of writing a business plan. We’ll be using this day as an opportunity to promote the small business services of clients like Riverplace Capital and we’ll make it a point to congratulate those who wrote a business plan while explaining how Riverplace can help them take the next step. #WriteABusinessPlanMonth
National Volunteers Month
National Volunteers Month represents a great opportunity for brands and businesses to highlight both the causes that are important to them as well as the team themselves. Consider organizing a team volunteering day at an organization that’s important to you and be sure to share the moment on your social media feeds. #NationalVolunteerMonth
National Cat Lovers' Month
It’s universally known that social media posts featuring pets are, dare we say it, catnip for every audience. If you have an office cat or anyone on your team is especially enamored of their feline friends then consider sharing photos of them on your social media feeds. Remember, it’s never a bad idea to inject a little frivolity and fun into your feed every now and then. #NationalCatLoversMonth
December 2025 Social Media Holidays
DEC 01
Cyber Monday
A HUGE day for retailers, Cyber Monday is a day you should have been promoting for weeks before the actual day. Consumers expect massive discounts today so really go for broke by offering significant deals across all of your products. You can also consult this handy guide to Cyber Monday promotions from Shopify. #CyberMonday

Candle Day
If the mound meeting in Bull Durham is to be believed (and why wouldn’t it be?) then candles always make a great gift. Christmas is right around the corner so candle stores should offer discounts on their finest, most fragrant candles! #CandleDay
DEC 04
International Day of Banks
If you run social media at a bank then today is your day to go full George Bailey to remove any preconceived notions about Mr. Potter-style banking. Share tips, deals, and stories about the people on your team that are on the front lines of your bank! #InternationalDayofBanks
Extraordinary Work Team Recognition Day
The team is the backbone of any business and today is a day to recognize and champion your entire team for some of the amazing things they’ve done throughout the year. This is a great opportunity to celebrate some of the unsung heroes at your business and to express a collaborative spirit that helps make your business thrive! #TeamRecognitionDay
DEC 05
National Blue Jeans Day
Today is the day you dive into the denim-themed posts and promote your best jeans. Your author is partial to the Levis classic 501 skinny jeans which probably stopped fitting like three years ago. Either way, consider offering discounts on your jeans or even just have everyone on your team wear jeans that day and post a photo on social media. Casual Thursdays forever! #NationalBlueJeansDay
Bartender Appreciation Day
People are likely going to REALLY appreciate their bartender after a weekend spent buying gifts that people will inevitably return so if you own a bar, use today as a way to show off your bartender’s personality on social media. It goes without saying that Nuera founding President, Joe Sampson would be apoplectic if you didn’t use the 🍺 emoji because, after all, he IS the self-proclaimed Keeper of The Realm, Lighter of the Flame, and The Once and Future King of Emoji Land (big ups to anyone who read all of these entries and noticed that he gets another name in each one). #BartenderAppreciationDay
DEC 06
National Gazpacho Day
Did I know what gazpacho was before I wrote this? No. Does this make me a little embarrassed? You bet! This admittedly means very little considering I have the palate of a toddler so if you have gazpacho on your menu, consider offering it for free today with an order over a certain amount. You could also consider offering a great gazpacho recipe like this one from Love & Lemons. #NationalGazpachoDay

Consider offering discounts on the brownies on your menu, having an office brownie bake-off, or sharing a recipe like this one from Baker By Nature. #NationalBrownieDay
Green Monday
You would think that this day would be dedicated to the environment but it’s actually a day to remind people to knock out some of their last-minute Christmas shopping before stores become total madhouses. Businesses can treat this day like another Cyber Monday or Black Friday and they’ll have an advantage because many other businesses won’t even know this day exists. #GreenMonday
DEC 09
Christmas Card Day
Consider using this day to have your creative director design some sort of digital Christmas card that you can use to feature employees and celebrate their accomplishments throughout the year. Even better if the creative director can indulge his inner Ben Bradlee and edit it so you can use it throughout the month and celebrate many employees for the holidays! #ChristmasCardDay
DEC 10

By this point in the month, your bartender should be feeling pretty good after Bartender Appreciation Day. He’ll feel even better when you offer discounts on lager for this day and watch the customers pour in! #NationalLagerDay

National Salesperson Day
Members of your sales team are the people most often speaking with clients and customers so they’re instantly associated with your brand. Businesses can feature them on this day with some humanizing content about their personality to let people in the past the pitch. Salespeople also deserve some recognition during what will inevitably be a very busy month! #NationalSalespersonDay

Another day for the chocaholics! Your social media pages should be awash in delicious chocolate today and consider offering discounts and free samples! #ChocolateCovered
DEC 17
National Device Appreciation Day
This day was started to show appreciation for the devices that make our lives easier. The word “device” can be pretty broad here so if you offer something tangible that can improve people’s lives, you should use today to both talk about it on social media and to share customer testimonials. #NationalDeviceAppreciationDay
DEC 18
Bake Cookies Day
One thing businesses can do today is to have their employees bake cookies, bring them to the office, and then have a competition for the best cookie. It’s a great way to get the team together before the holidays and it will display unification (and deliciousness) when you post about it on social media. Be sure to include recipes like this one for the winning cookie! #BakeCookiesDay

Winter Solstice / First Day of Winter
Seasons change and so should your social media content design. For clients like Ocean State Heating & Air, we use this day to pivot our messaging, strategy, and design to account for winter’s arrival. If you sell anything that functions best in the winter then be sure to acknowledge this day. Example: “The first day of winter is here and we have new winter coats available!” #FirstDayofWinter
DEC 22
National Cookie Exchange Day
Use today to celebrate the culture of your office by posting about a cookie exchange for your team while also wishing everyone happy holidays! #HappyHolidays
DEC 23
Festivus
With every brand and their mother inevitably posting about Christmas this week, you can have a little fun and preempt those posts with something about the Seinfeld holiday called Festivus. Whether it’s “feats of strength” that take place at the workplace or a decorated Festivus Pole (it’s a thing)--your post will definitely stand out! If you don’t know what Festivus is then say “serenity now” and click this link. #Festivus
DEC 24
Christmas Eve
Be sure to let your customers know your hours if you are open today and they want to do a little last-minute shopping. You can also post your Merry Christmas post today to get a head start on everyone else! #ChristmasEve

Assuming people haven’t gone into shock from too much Christmas chocolate then candy and ice cream stores can offer discounts on chocolate candy today! #NationalChocolateCandyDay
DEC 29
Still Need to Do Day
There are inevitably things that people need to do by the end of the year and we would cite examples but we are now in a cold panic thinking about what we will almost certainly forget. Use this opportunity as a reminder to people if there’s something they need to do that’s germane to your business and let them know you can help before it’s too late. #StillNeedToDoDay
DEC 30
National Bacon Day
I assume that there’s a secret bacon conglomerate out there that has done an absolutely phenomenal job branding bacon as the best breakfast food because people cannot get enough of it. There’s an entire culture built around bacon so this is one of those rare opportunities where sharing memes like this would actually be appropriate because it’s such a silly yet zealous concept! #NationalBaconDay
DEC 31
New Year's Eve
Wish everyone an amazing and safe New Year’s Eve, consider doing a recap of the past year, and be sure to share your hours. It’s important to project gratitude to your audience and then end your post with something they can look forward to in 2025!
That was definitely a long December and hopefully, this coming year will be better than the last. Thanks for reading! #NewYearsEve
